Where Helping Happens: Contributing Directly to Relief in Beirut
We understand that emergency response and disaster relief are dependent on sufficient funding and other resources. We have compiled a list of opportunities to contribute to relief in Beirut financially. They are sub-divided by category. While none of these organizations have a present relationship with EPI, we have included their claims and hope to further elevate their networks through this post.
RESOURCE DISTRIBUTION
Lebanon Disaster Relief Matching Fund:
What they claim: “We are mobilizing to offer support to the people of Lebanon on their long road to recovery. It has been a week since the massive humanitarian tragedy crippled a country that has long been fighting against deep corruption, unemployment, inflation, and government negligence. Baytna Baytak
What they claim: “Baytna Baytak is a social initiative launched by young, dynamic, and independent Lebanese individuals. Their mission was primarily to secure housing for healthcare professionals working at the forefront of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. In the wake of the tragic Beirut blast, Baytna Baytak has shifted its priority to relocating displaced individuals who have lost their homes to the blast. Egna Legna Besidet:
What they claim: “[Egna Legna Besidet] organization is an Ethiopian domestic worker run organization based in Beirut Lebanon, which has over the past three years assisted domestic workers including victims of horrible abuses to the best of its ability.”
